A Rose for the Next Tragedy
2024 This is an interactive sculpture. When installed, the public is invited to take a memorial rose with them from this display in the event they may (eventually) need one for a future loss. The flowers are continually replenished for the duration. Taking language from a shop display and a funeral tribute.

An Index of Americanisms (2023)
2024A scroll of receipts on thermal paper, An Index of Americanisms (2023) is a 27 foot scroll broken down into sections that represent one week of the year. On the receipts are line items of news headlines drawn from national and local publications citing every mass shooting that took place in 2023 in the United States. The weeks are sporadically broken up by counterfeit coupons with adages commonly shared in response to such tragedies. I referenced the Gun Violence Archive during the process.

Visiting the Miami Beach Holocaust Memorial by proxy2019Visiting the Holocaust Memorial Miami beach by proxy is a three channel video installation. The performance was informed by my decision to not visit the memorial in person and instead visit through instagram geotags and hashtags of the memorial. This is the first memorial l had a relationship with. The names of 17 of my family members are inscribed in the granite walls surrounding the arm. In the performance for the camera I withhold imagery of both the site and the social media posts interacting with it. I instead use language and my arm as a prop to represent the memorial and the social media performativity at the site through embodied gesture.
